May 31st — Pentecost project outreach event, our goal is to reach 450 homes where someone is home (800 total) and ask people, “In your personal opinion, what do you understand it takes for a person to go to heaven?”.  We’re hoping that this question will open the door to a dialogue that will allow us to share the gospel with those yet unreached.

I finally agree with The Obama

14 05 2009

In a recent commencement address at Arizona State University, The Obama said that he hadn’t done enough yet to warrant being granted an honorary college degree.

I agree.

I must misunderstand the term “racism”

13 05 2009

I read a story yesterday about an African-American gentleman who has decided that if he can’t buy something from an entirely African-American owned business, he won’t be buying.  He goes on to say that he’s willing to do without if he can’t purchase what he needs from a such a business.  He’s being lauded in the media as a hero.

What would happen to me if I made a similar statement?  What if I publically proclaimed that, ”I’m only going to shop at businesses that are owned by white people.”?  I’m pretty sure the media would be calling me something, too.  And I don’t think it would be ”hero”.

Isn’t this a double-standard?  What am I missing here?

U.S. military “accused” of handing out Bibles in middle east

4 05 2009

Story here.

And what’s your point?  Let’s do the math…

Three out of four Americans claim to be Christian.  Some of those Americans Christians serve in our military.  You  have asked our military for help.  Our soldiers have left the comforts of home and the company of their families for extended periods of time to give our assistance.

Yup, the possibility exists that those Christians are going to read what’s in God’s Word and subsequently hand out a Bible.  So what?

How about a little tolerance?
