Thoughts on first series between Cards and Cubs

Cardinals take 2 of 3.  But for one lousy inning in game 2 on Saturday, I thought the Redbirds looked dominant.

What stood out to you?

    I’m still quite impressed for the most part. I think Ankiel is looking weak right now offensively. Duncan still needs to improve defensively. Still wondering if Izzy can last the season. They’re winning though, and with Albert just playing average for Albert, nothing outstanding. Above avg for other players, but just avg for Albert. Ryan has been the cause for Izturis to step it up at the plate it seems. Very impressed with Kennedy. Overall, lots of plusses, very few negatives.

    With Carp and Clement in the Cards future (not so sure about Mulder), I think the outlook is great. Management just needs to figure out this Izzy situation because it’s started to get ugly and we’re only a month in.

    We’re in first, and we took 2 of 3 from the Scrubs…I can’t complain.
