This is why you need to stay in school, kids.
That and, well, it’s only soccer.

I had to read this twice to make sure I was actually seeing what I thought I was seeing.
Apparently some pencil-necked geek (or a whole herd of pencil-necked geeks….is it “herd” or “flock”?) in a Colorado school system determined that the game “tag” is no good for students on the playground. Apparently some students were being chased against their will. WUH??????
Other running games are allowed….for the time being. I wonder what other running games are being allowed. Probably not running races. Because if you run in a race, someone has to win and someone has to lose. And we just can’t have that in our public school arena.
Makes me want to puke!
We had our draft last night. Here are my starters….
QB – Peyton Manning
RB – Frank Gore
RB – Joseph Addai
WR – Chad Johnson
WR – Lee Evans
TE – Tony Gonzalez
OP – Donovan McNabb
K – Robbie Gould
D / ST – PHI Eagles
How did you do in your draft? Think you could beat me? I DON’T!
Brent Snyder from Sons of The Father is our league’s administrator. He’s a great guy…but he’s goin’ down in week 1 !
Story here.
Now this is confusing to me. When I watch the news it’s only the Republicans that are villified as fat-cat n’er-do-wells who are only looking out for themselves. I thought only Republican candidates and their respective donors were law-benders. Hmmmmmmm.
I guess the Dems will have to come up with a new mantra in 2008. Or they will have to actually run on the issues. Time will tell.
It is believed that the classical master died of lead poisoning, but not necessarily at his own hand. Story here.
It’s interesting to me that we are able to determine such things even some 200 years after he began de-composing.
Many thanks to all of you who stop by PTP regularly or just occasionally. It’s a lot of fun.
This post is number #400. I’ve enjoyed over 22,000 pages views to date. The best single day was yesterday (never dreamed there were so many Paula White and Juanita Bynum fans out there!)…1321 total views.
Please take some time to visit my friends (both personal and bloggish) listed here to the right. They’re putting some quality stuff out there.
Let’s keep it going! I’m always open to ideas about blog topics. Just drop me a line.
And, as always, dissenters are still welcome!
Ouch. Painful. Make it stop!
Have you seen this video?
Makes you want to go home and help your kids with their homework.
Tired of reading that from well-meaning friends? Me too.
Check this out! It’s classic!
Also, when you’re wondering whether or not something you read in an email is genuine, you can check it out at several different web sites that will determine its veracity. I prefer Truth or Fiction. But there are several.
If you don’t link this post to your own blog within 15 seconds…..
R. L. White, the leader of the Atlanta chapter of the NAACP, says that Michael Vick is being treated worse than if he’d killed someone (story here). With that I’ll agree. Remember that preacher’s wife that shot her husband in the back while he was in bed? She’s already out of jail!
But I have to disagree with Mr. White’s assessment that we shouldn’t be so offended at dog-fighting since so many people deer hunt. WHUH?????? One little difference: DEER HUNTING IS LEGAL! It also manages the herd, keeps auto insurance premiums from sky-rocketing, helps keeps food costs lower, and is good for the country’s landscape. But other than that, I guess it’s just like dog-fighting.
Sheesh. If you’re going to defend Michael Vick’s actions, you should at least attempt to make a point that makes sense.
On March 22, 1990, Cheryl and I held our first-born son in our arms for the very first time. You go through their whole lives in those moments wondering things like how big they’ll grow to be, what they’ll pursue vocationally, who they’ll marry…stuff like that.
Well, today marked another milestone in his life. My boy began his senior year of high school. Wow.
The first day of classes lasted a whole hour. Then he stood in line for 45 minutes waiting for his assigned space in the student parking lot.
Maybe that’s the milestone….learning to wait in line a lot as an adult. Joking.
Congrats, buddy. Your mother and I love you and we are very proud of you. Make it a great year. And try not to wish it by too quickly!
