….maybe snagging one of his favorite targets will pay off big! That’s what my beloved Chiefs are counting on. Kansas City selected LSU WR Dwayne Bowe with their first-round pick. I’m a little wishy-washy about this pick…or maybe I’m not.
Boon or bust?
What do you get when you put a bunch of democratic presidential hopefuls in the same room in front of a bunch of television cameras?
I’m so glad that I attended corporate worship services last night and didn’t sit glued to my television waiting to see who got axed from AI this week.
If you haven’t heard, since this was their big “Idol gives back” charity emphasis they decided to scratch none of the 6 finalists. Next week two will go home, however.
There’s a phrase in television circles called “jumping the shark“. This simply means that a television show has reached it’s peak and is grabbing at straws to continue to maintain ratings. Has AI finally reached that point?
In “reality”, even in the midst of charitable pursuits, bad things happen all the time. It wouldn’t have been awful for someone to have gone home last night.
NASCAR driver Tony Stewart recently likened his beloved sport to professional wrestling.
That’s a very ugly thing to say…..about pro wrestling.
Really? Story is found here. I guess my Sunday School teacher was right after all!
And their names were Adam and Eve.
Those who speak in the name of “science” never cease to amaze me……or disappoint me.
We had a great day in worship yesterday. We opened our contemporary worship service with the ordinance of believer’s baptism. I wear fishing waders under a long black robe. So all I have to do is take off my shoes and slip the waders on. As I was doing this, a member of the baptismal committee (folks available to help candidates up and down the stairs, hand them a towel, etc…) noticed that I took off my watch and placed it inside one of my shoes. When I went to put my shoes back on, inside the other shoe was a piece of hard candy from the welcome center counter. I just don’t understand why people think they can joke around with me like that. After all, I AM the senior pastor of the First Baptist Church! Sweet, sweet spirit, indeed!
The “other” democratic senator from New York, Chuck Schumer, said yesterday that the burden of proof is on accused Attorney General Alberto Gonzales. He was speaking in regard to the “botched” firings of several U.S. attorneys.
Wrong (again), senator. The burden of proof is always on the prosecution. In the United States of America (the country that signs your enormous and unearned paycheck), the accused is innocent until proven guilty (like we did with president Clinton when he perjured himself and was subsequently impeached). Do you actually have a case? No? Then take your seat until such a time that you can begin to sound like you actually know something about anything.
Phewwww…for a minute there I was afraid that the nation might have reason to believe that NFL players were finally getting it together.
This guy is a lock for the Hall. Classy guy, too.
Somewhere Larry Johnson is rethinking which hole he will be looking to run through in ‘07.
